MOSCOW -- Canadas Brianne Theisen is fourth after the first four events of the heptathlon at the world track and field championships. DeSean Jackson Jersey . The native of Humboldt, Sask., has 3,810 points to trail leader Ganna Melnichenko of Ukraine by just 102 points. Shes only 26 points behind American Sharon Day, who is third. Briesen was second after the first two events -- 100-metre hurdles and high jump. She won the 100 with a time of 13.17 second and was sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.83 metres. Briesen fell to fourth overall after registering 732 points with a 13.07-metre effort in the shot put but accumulated 963 points after finishing the 200 in 24.18 seconds. Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands is second overall with 3,837 points. The final three events -- long jump, javelin and 800 -- are scheduled for Tuesday. The two-day event is considered wide open since Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill and defending champion Tatyana Chernova are both out injured. Theisens husband Ashton Eaton, a gold medallist for the U.S. in the decathlon, was in the stands watching his wife. The two were married in July. Canadians Matt Hughes and Alex Genest advanced to the mens 3,000-metre steeplechase. Meanwhile, the U.S.-Jamaica sprint rivalry is turning into a rout. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce rubbed it in Monday with a winning margin of Bolt-esque proportions in the womens 100 metres. Her hot-pink coloured hair slashing in the air behind her, Fraser-Pryce flashed to an early lead and kept on building it before crossing in a world leading 10.71 seconds. She had time to clench her fist as she crossed the line with silver medallist Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast crossed a massive .22 behind. The first American, defending champion Carmelita Jeter, took bronze in 10.94. Like Usain Bolt, she now has two Olympic and two world titles in the 100. And in Moscow she gave Jamaica a 2-0 lead over the Americans in the sprint duel, showing the Caribbean island produces the fastest runners on the planet. The United States got its part of the glory, too, when David Oliver led a 1-2 finish in the 110 hurdles. It would have been an American sweep had defending champion Jason Richardson not stumbled near the end. In the womens 400, Christine Ohuruogu set a British record to regain the world title she first won in 2007, dipping at the line to cap a great comeback and beat defending champion Amantle Montsho of Botswana by .004 seconds. "When I finished I didnt know if Id won it, I didnt want to get over-excited until my name came up," Ohuruogu said. "I heard everyone screaming and I looked up and Im just so happy." Through three days of competition, the United States leads the medals standings with three gold and six overall. Germany is second with four medals overall after Raphael Holzdeppe upset Olympic champion Renaud Lavillenie of France on a countback to win the pole vault. In the shot put, Valerie Adams became the first woman to win four straight individual world titles. Mike Alstott Jersey . -- Andy Dorman and Kelyn Rowe scored in the second half to lead the New England Revolution to a 2-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City in the first leg of their Eastern Conference semifinals series on Saturday night. Ronde Barber Jersey . Colorado came up big against Chicago last spring, and repeated that performance Tuesday night. Varlamov stopped 36 shots and Paul Stastny had a goal and an assist for the Avalanche in a 5-1 victory over the Blackhawks. http://www.shoptheofficialbuccaneers.com/Elite-Demar-Dotson-Buccaneers-Jersey/ . Tepesch, back from the minor leagues, earned his first major league victory in more than 10 months and the Rangers edged the Seattle Mariners 4-3 on Wednesday.DUBLIN, Ohio -- Tiger Woods withdrew from the U.S. Open on Wednesday as he recovers from back surgery that has kept him out of golf for nearly three months. It will be the second U.S. Open, and sixth major, he has missed because of injury over the last six years. The U.S. Open is June 12-15 at Pinehurst No. 2, where Woods tied for third in 1999 and was runner-up in 2005. The announcement on his website was not surprising. A week ago at a promotional event for the Quicken Loans National at Congressional, Woods said he still had not taken a full swing with a golf club and did not know when he could. He had microdiscetomy surgery to relieve a pinched nerve on March 31. "Unfortunately, I wont be there because Im not yet physically able to play competitive golf," Woods said. "Id like to convey my regrets to the USGA leadership, the volunteers and the fans that I wont be at Pinehurst. The U.S. Open is very important to me, and I know its going to be a great week." Woods last played on March 9 at Doral, where he closed with a 78 while suffering what he called back spasms. He withdrew in the middle of the final round at the Honda Classic with back pain a week earlier. Woods is a three-time U.S. Open champion, one short of the record shared by Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones and Willie Anderson. His most recent U.S. Open victory was in 2008 at Torrey Pines, where he won in a playoff over Rocco Mediate a week before he had season-ending knee surgery. That was his 14th victory in 46 majors, a winning ratee of 30 per cent as a pro. Keith Tandy Jersey. He has not won a major since Torrey Pines, leaving him four short of Nicklaus record. Woods missed the British Open and PGA Championship after knee surgery in 2008. He missed the U.S. Open and British Open while allowing leg injuries to heal in 2011. He missed the Masters for the first time in April because of back surgery. Nicklaus said earlier Wednesday that Woods health would be the biggest obstacle in breaking his record in the majors. Woods called Nicklaus earlier Wednesday to express regrets about missing the Memorial, and Nicklaus said that Woods indicated he was making progress. "If hes healthy, I think Tiger has got 10-plus years to play top quality tournament golf," Nicklaus said. "And Ive said many times, hes got a little over 40 tournaments to play the major championships; hes only got to win five to pass my record. As good a player as he is, I dont think that should be a big deal. But then again, hes got to do it. Plus, hes also got to be healthy to be able to do it." Woods has not indicated when he might be able to return to competition, saying that would be up to his doctors and how he recovers from the surgery. "Despite missing the first two majors, and several other important tournaments, I remain very optimistic about this year and my future," he said. While Woods wont be at Pinehurst, niece Cheyenne Woods will be there the following week for the U.S. Womens Open. She earned a spot Wednesday in qualifying in Scottsdale, Arizona.
